The Core 2 brand refers to Intel's x86/x86-64 microprocessors with the Core microarchitecture targeted at the consumer and business markets (except servers) above Pentium. The Core 2 solo branch covered single-core CPUs for notebook computers, Core 2 Duo – dual-core CPUs for both desktop and notebook computers, Core 2 Quad – quad-core CPUs for both desktop and notebook computers, and Core 2.
Jan 17, 2016 Is the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 compatible with Windows 10? I presently run Windows 7 Pro 32 bit without any issues at all. When I run the 'Get Windows 10' icon and then the wizard in the site it returns that Windows 10 will not run with the processor. In other words, both processors have 2 core in one processor die, T6600 is newer architecturewith twice more cache size andhigher performance, better TDP, for mainstream notebooks. T3400 was for lower cost notebooks.

Max Turbo Frequency refers to the maximum single-core processor frequency that can be achieved with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. See www.intel.com/technology/turboboost/ for more information.
Processors that support 64-bit computing on Intel® architecture require an Intel 64 architecture-enabled BIOS.
Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html for details.
